Crutch-free for the Holidays!!
Today is my first day in a month sans crutches! I feel like a brand new woman....albeit a woman with a limp. But I want to thank everyone who's been helping me out for the past month--Pete who's been doing everything at home for me (and driving me to and from work), my sister Karen who did a bunch of Christmas shopping for me (just like Jen had to do the last time I was on crutches), my parents who catered to my every need for an entire weekend, and a handful of my co-workers (especially Dan who is stuck sitting next to me--he carried (literally) the major burden). I also want to thank my "crutch buddy" for sending me the "Lucky Bamboo" (see photo). Which reminds me, happy dirty 30 to my crutch buddy (aka Sheryl) and Team Mom (aka Janna)! It was also Brenden's 3rd birthday last weekend. We celebrated by putting his new puzzle (from Jen and Steve) together, eating cupcakes with blue frosting, reading Orca whale books, and playing with his new DJ 1:18 scale NASCAR race car that Pete and I gave him...he thinks the number 88 car is actually the BB car ("look, it says B for Brenden")...and he likes to "crash" the car. Brenden and Jaxson also got a kick out of wearing Aviator Snoopy's goggles (see pics)--I particularly like the "goggles and nuk" look that Jaxson had going on. Jaxson's been in and out of the doctor's office again, fighting colds and ear infections...poor little guy, I hope he's better by Christmas!

I'm also very proud of Brenden--last weekend he officially ripped on me for the first time...and he's only 3. That's my guy.So we're heading to the Quad Cities area tonight to spend a few days with Pete's parents, and we're also going to swing by Big D and Lolo's (and hope to see their family), then we're heading to my parents place on Sunday. Lots of driving, but I'm excited to see everyone!
Happy Holidays and Safe Travels!!
Sarah
